Heritage
A house, in its own words
Shakira introduced her first perfume, S BY SHAKIRA, in 2010 through a partnership with Puig, a Spanish fragrance house known for collaborating with musicians. The launch coincided with the singer’s global tour, allowing fans to experience the scent backstage and on‑stage. In 2014 the line expanded with Amuleto, an oriental fragrance that highlighted deeper amber and spice notes. Over the next decade Shakira released a series of limited editions—We Rock! (2017), Sweet Dream (2019), Dance Pop Edition (2021) and Magnetic Elixir (2016)—each timed with a new album or tour. The brand has maintained a worldwide distribution network, appearing in department stores across Europe, North America and Latin America. While the line does not claim awards, it has been featured in regional fragrance fairs and reviewed by independent bloggers who note its consistent performance and approachable price point. The collection’s evolution mirrors Shakira’s artistic phases, shifting from youthful pop vibrancy to more mature, nuanced accords, while staying anchored in the singer’s commitment to authenticity and cultural roots. The fragrance house follows Shakira’s belief that scent should amplify confidence and movement. Creative direction stays in the artist’s hands; she selects themes that reflect her personal milestones, such as dance, love and self‑expression. The brand values transparency, sourcing ingredients that meet European safety standards and supporting sustainable farming where possible. It avoids over‑promising, instead letting each perfume’s story unfold through its notes. Collaboration with perfumers like Marion Costero ensures that the olfactory narrative aligns with the lyrical tone of Shakira’s music. The line also supports charitable causes linked to the singer’s Pies Descalzos Foundation, allocating a portion of sales from select releases to education projects in Colombia. This blend of artistic intent, ethical sourcing and community focus defines the brand’s creative vision.
