    Andrea Marcoccia

Andrea Marcoccia grew up along the Adriatic shore, where the scent of salt-kissed air mingled with citrus groves. After completing a formal apprenticeship at a historic Milanese atelier, he spent a decade refining his craft for niche houses across Italy. In 2006 he launched his eponymous label, turning the memories of his travels into bottled moments. The debut collection, anchored by Aqua di Ponza, earned praise for its vivid recreation of a summer afternoon on a volcanic island. Collaborations with fellow artisans such as Walter Maiorano expanded his palette, while his work for Officine del Profumo and Morning Star demonstrated a willingness to explore both bright citruses and deep amber woods. Today he balances a boutique studio in Milan with frequent trips to the Italian countryside, where each new scent begins as a quiet observation rather than a brief trend.

    The signature

    How Andrea composes

His signature technique blends traditional Italian extraction methods with modern layering. He favors natural citrus absolutes, hand-pressed neroli, and sun-dried bergamot, pairing them with Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and sage. In the base he often reaches for aged oakmoss, smoked cedar, and a touch of amber resin, creating depth that unfolds over hours. Marcoccia prefers to build around a single dominant note, then sculpt surrounding accords that support without overwhelming. The result is a clear, confident structure that feels both familiar and freshly discovered.

    Philosophy

    What drives Andrea

Marcoccia describes his mission as translating the emotions he feels while watching a sunrise over the Tyrrhenian Sea into scent. He believes fragrance should act as a bridge between memory and the present moment, allowing the wearer to pause and feel the same pulse he captured in the lab. Rather than chasing fleeting fashions, he follows the rhythm of the places he visits, letting the local flora, climate and light dictate the composition. This discipline keeps his work grounded, yet each bottle still carries a whisper of the unexpected—a sudden breeze, a distant church bell, a splash of sea foam.
