The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Citrus Breeze was born from Scentido's 2018 mission to blend India's emerging scent culture with a global appetite for experiential fragrance. The house's Mumbai boutique, a sensory lounge designed for discovery, inspired the perfumer to capture the feeling of a breezy orchard at sunrise, where crisp fruit and warm woods meet in harmony. The perfumer worked with apple and bergamot as the opening anchor, adding ginger for spice, and built the drydown around amberwood and frankincense for a finish that echoes incense-stained air in a high-altitude market.
The note philosophy behind Citrus Breeze relies on contrast, crisp apple and bergamot against warm ginger, green geranium against dry juniper berry, resinous frankincense against sweet tonka bean. Each pairing creates tension that keeps the scent from feeling flat. The combination of vetiver and cedarwood in the base ensures the drydown works especially well for evening wear, while the bright opening makes it equally suitable for daytime. Pairing suggestions include warm-weather layering with transparent florals or cool-weather anchoring with leather and tobacco fragrances.
The evolution
The fragrance unfolds like a day in a hillside orchard, beginning with the crisp bite of apple and the brightness of bergamot at dawn. Ginger arrives quickly, adding a fleeting warmth that prevents the opening from feeling too delicate. As the morning progresses, geranium and juniper berry emerge in the heart, bringing a dry, green complexity that sage deepens into something aromatic and masculine-leaning but wearable across genders. By afternoon, the base takes over, amberwood and cedarwood dominate, while frankincense and vetiver lend an unexpected smoky depth that tonka bean softens with its sweet, vanillic undertones.
Cultural impact
Wearers describe Citrus Breeze as the scent of a fresh start, ideal for spring days when the city feels alive. It’s often mentioned alongside Scentido’s Tropical Bloom for its bright opening, yet praised for a spicier, more herbal backbone that sets it apart in the brand’s lineup.
