Why it exists.
The beginning
Rue Broca launched Théorème Matrix in 2022 as the next entry in their scientific-themed series, asking perfumer Imran Fazlani to interpret the mathematical matrix through scent. Fazlani's challenge was to translate order, structure, and infinite possibility into a wearable formula. He responded by building a fragrance with a clear architectural structure, bright opening, structured heart, grounded base, that mirrors the precision of a mathematical matrix while leaving room for unexpected sensory moments.
The note selection reflects a deliberate philosophy. Each ingredient serves a specific purpose in creating a fragrance that feels both structured and sensory. The fruity opening establishes energy and accessibility, the woody-heart provides the mathematical backbone, and the mossy base grounds the entire composition in classic perfumery tradition. The inclusion of Saffron adds an unexpected spicy dimension that elevates the formula beyond predictable territory.

The fragrance unfolds in distinct phases that feel intentionally ordered. Opening with Pineapple, Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Blackcurrant creates immediate tropical-fruity energy. The heart of Patchouli, Lavender, Cedarwood, and Jasmine brings earthy, woody, and floral complexity that provides substance and structure.
