The beginning
Semi-Bespoke No. 17 was among the first compositions to come out of Roja Dove's house. The Semi-Bespoke line carries a character all its own, fragrances composed with a density and intentionality that rewards attention. This one weaves aldehydes into a floral structure, with soapy florals and a mossy backbone shaping its architecture. The aldehydes arrive with intention rather than mere sparkle, and the powder that emerges reads as deliberate rather than incidental. What sets this apart is the density of the accord list working in concert. Aldehydes, peach, rose, and iris open together, creating a layered introduction that demands space around the wearer. Oakmoss and castoreum settle underneath, giving the floral heart a leathery gravity. As the composition wears, the aldehydes recede and you're left with iris, sandalwood, tonka, and a whisper of clove. It doesn't fade so much as narrow, becoming more intimate, more skin-like.
