The beginning
So Repetto arrived in 2020 as a limited release from Repetto, a house better known for its fashion and footwear work than for what sits on a vanity. The perfumer Aliénor Massenet composed the juice, and the marketing is handled through an ongoing arrangement with Interparfums, whose distribution network has long carried the brand's wider line of personal products. What sets the release apart from a typical designer launch is its register. So Repetto reads as a quieter fragrance than the ones that usually share shelf space with it, favoring subtlety over projection, precision over volume, and a wearability that tends to sit close to the skin rather than fill a room.
What makes So Repetto structurally interesting is how it handles its contrasts. The opening pairs pink pepper's dry bite with grapefruit's brighter acidity, a sharp-edged introduction that the heart immediately softens through iris and jasmine. Peony adds a green-cool dimension that keeps the floral from tipping into sweetness, while the base layers cashmere wood and cedar under white musk for a drydown that reads more like skin than perfume. The evolution
The first 15 minutes belong to grapefruit and pink pepper, a clean and slightly spicy brightness that arrives with surprising clarity for a fragrance this soft-spoken. The grapefruit gives way first, retreating within the half-hour and leaving the pink pepper's warmth to hold the door open for the florals. Iris enters next, powdery and cool, joined by jasmine for a quiet sweetness and peony for a green, almost watery freshness. This is the heart of the composition, and it lasts roughly 2-3 hours before the base begins to gather. Cashmere wood and cedar arrive without ceremony, blending under a layer of white musk that feels less like a note and more like an extension of skin.
