Geranium was chosen for its green, almost bitter quality, preventing the heart from becoming too sweet. Neroli bridges the gap between the sharp opening and the warm base, its waxy orange-blossom character threading through the composition. Musk and amber anchor everything, providing the longevity and skin-attachment that such an aggressive opening demands. Each note exists in service of the whole, creating a fragrance that performs as boldly in its final hours as it does in its first.

The evolution

The fragrance opens like an ignition sequence, five citrus notes firing in rapid succession. Ginger provides the spark, sharp and almost abrasive, followed immediately by the bittersweet punch of bergamot and grapefruit. Lemon and mandarin orange fill in the gaps, creating a top layer that buzzes with energy. This citrus assault doesn't announce itself politely; it demands attention. Within twenty minutes, the brightness begins to soften as blackcurrant enters, adding depth and a slightly jammy quality that tempers the sharpness.
