Why it exists.
The beginning
Amalfi, Italy. A town built into cliffs above the Mediterranean, where the air carries both citrus brightness and mineral salt. It's a place that exists in contrast, the warmth of the southern sun against the cool sea breeze, ancient stone architecture against the endless blue horizon. The scent captures this duality, zesty lemon that lifts the spirit alongside a grounding mineral quality that recalls the rocky coastline. What Prin Lomros designed with Amalfi was a fragrance that evokes a specific Mediterranean moment, not a generic coastal fantasy but the actual character of this storied Italian town. The way the light hits the water. The texture of weathered surfaces. The way the sea defines everything in Amalfi, from the cuisine to the architecture to the daily rhythm of life.
Three notes anchor it: Tunisian neroli absolute, salt, and Amalfi lemon. That's the spine. Everything else, bergamot, mandarin orange, lemon blossom, herbs, moss, olive tree, ambergris, patchouli, Tuscan rose, builds outward from there. Salt threads through the composition like a mineral current, keeping the citrus from ever going flat. The ambergris adds warmth at the base without sweetness. The moss and olive tree ground the florals in something earthy and Mediterranean, not Parisian.
The evolution
It opens citrus-bright. Lemon and bergamot, immediate and clean, with salt appearing early and staying through the drydown as a thread rather than fading. The neroli follows, cooler and more complex than the opening citrus, bridging toward the heart. Lemon blossom and Tuscan rose arrive as the florals, but they're not the focus. Herbs and moss work alongside them, adding complexity to the middle. The patchouli and olive tree eventually take over, anchoring everything as the scent settles. Salt remains present, still threading through. The ambergris adds warmth without sweetness to the final drydown. Across the wearing period, the scent evolves from bright citrus through aromatic complexity to a warm, earthy finish, maintaining that mineral thread throughout.
