The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
360° Green arrived in 2013 as part of Perry Ellis's ongoing conversation with the modern man, someone who wants a scent that moves with him, not one that announces itself from across the room. The brief was simple on paper: fresh, green, and lasting. But the execution is where it gets interesting. Marine freshness meets earthy warmth, but the balance shifts as the fragrance develops. The sea mist opens, yes. But it doesn't stay. What arrives next is where most people stop paying attention and miss the point entirely.
The pairing of sea mist with cardamom, sage, and artemisia is not an obvious one. Aquatic fragrances often lean toward a bright top and a quick fade, a pattern familiar to anyone who samples the category. 360° Green doesn't follow that script. The heart introduces warm spice and bitter herbs that shift the fragrance's character in ways that require attention to fully appreciate. The result is a scent that smells different three hours in than it did at spray, evolving across the wearing period to reveal new dimensions.
The evolution
The opening announces itself quickly. Sea mist and grapefruit arrive together, salt air cutting through citrus brightness. Green apple adds a soft fruit note that keeps the aquatic from going too sharp. The first thirty minutes are clean, fresh, exactly what you'd expect. Then the hand-off happens. Cardamom and sage move in, warm, slightly sweet spice that shifts the entire character of the fragrance. This is the phase most people sleep through. But if you're paying attention, you'll notice cypress and artemisia building underneath, adding a quiet herbal bitterness that prevents the warmth from getting soft. By hour two, the base takes over. Moss and amber anchor everything, holding the warmth in place. Haitian vetiver adds an earthy depth that prevents the drydown from fading into nothing. On most skin types, this is where 360° Green earns its keep, the projection moderates, the sillage drops to intimate, and the fragrance settles into something that lingers without demanding attention. The next morning, there's a faint warmth left on the skin. Not much.
Cultural impact
360° Green occupies an interesting position, fresh enough for warm months, warm enough for cooler ones. The herbal complexity in the heart is what sets it apart: cardamom, sage, and artemisia bring warmth and bitter depth that balance the marine opening. Wearers who stick around past the opening tend to appreciate what they find there. Those who don't probably weren't paying attention.
