Oilily Ovation arrived in 2009, launched in honour of twenty years since the Dutch house first crossed from fashion into fragrance. The brand built its name on hand-drawn color and unapologetic pattern, a wearable joy that announces itself without asking permission. Ovation carried that energy into scent, aimed at a woman the house described as confident, strong, and independent, someone whose untamed emotions and playful spirit deserved their own composition. The bottle was decorated with floral elements representing modern femininity and individuality, a visual translation of everything Oilily put into its designs now bottled into something you wear on skin.
The composition leans on an unusual anchor for an oriental-floral: Mirabelle plum. That choice gives the heart a quieter, almost honeyed edge, less candy than compote, a fruit note that reads as preserved rather than fresh-picked. Tincture of rose sits alongside it, adding a grown-up counterweight to the sweetness, the kind of floral that grounds rather than decorates.
