The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Intimus arrived in 2019 as Navitus Parfums explored the theme of intimacy. Perfumer Christian Carbonnel, known as Chrismaurice, designed this scent to capture that charged moment of closeness. The Latin meaning of the name guided the creative brief toward something romantic and personal, a fragrance meant to erase distance between wearer and admirers.
The composition reflects a deliberate choice to pair bright opening materials with warm, enveloping base materials. Bergamot and lemon were selected to cut through with clarity, while apple and pink pepper add modern charm. The heart uses lily of the valley and geranium because they bridge freshness and warmth without competing. The drydown leans into sugar and vanilla for sweetness, grounded by oakmoss and patchouli to ensure the scent develops depth rather than cloying sweetness. Every stage is designed to guide the wearer from attention to closeness.
The evolution
The story begins with the sharp, intoxicating freshness of apple and bergamot, a sensory hook that recalls the nervous excitement before a first kiss. Pink pepper sparks like a flash of boldness, while lemon and orange add a youthful glow. The transition to the heart where geranium and lily of the valley bloom signals the deepening of the connection, with amber adding romantic warmth. The drydown, our payoff moment, settles into sugar, vanilla, woody notes, musk, patchouli, and oakmoss, creating a second skin closeness that makes intimacy feel inevitable.
Cultural impact
Intimus quickly found a niche among fans of sweet‑fresh fruit openings paired with warm amber bases. Wearers often note its similarity to Ultra Male’s bright fruit burst yet appreciate the softer, more romantic heart that Navitus injects. The fragrance has become a go‑to for evening dates and special occasions, earning compliments for its balanced sweetness and lingering amber warmth without overwhelming the wearer.
