Why it exists.
The beginning
Enigma launched in 2024 as part of Moudon's Noir Collection. The name does the heavy lifting in the brand's storytelling, less a puzzle to solve than a mood to inhabit. From the first spray, tuberose arrives not as a delicate accent but as the central pillar, creamy and almost waxy, with a green stemmy sharpness that keeps it from tipping into sweetness. Cardamom threads through the opening, adding a cool spiced lift that makes the white floral feel awake rather than sultry. As the hours pass, the composition settles into something denser. A resinous benzoin warmth curls around the tuberose, softening its edges while a quiet leather note grounds the whole structure. The dry-down lingers close to the skin, an ambered skin-scent with just enough sweetness to read as intimate.
What makes Enigma worth attention is the tension at its center. Agave and orange blossom lead, but the heart stacks tuberose against cardamom and iris, a combination that reads floral on paper and smoky in practice.
