The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Moschino has been poking holes in luxury's pomposity since 1983. The brand's campy, satirical approach to fashion translates directly into its fragrance collection, where bottles become the statement and the scent becomes the punchline. Toy 2 Gummy continues that tradition, designed as a 50-ml teddy bear bottle in shades of fuchsia, red, and yellow, inspired by the playful atmosphere of a candy store. Created by perfumer Jordi Fernández and launched in 2026, it's Moschino asking the question no one else in fine fragrance will: what if luxury smelled like something you'd actually want to eat?
Toy 2 Gummy's note structure is built around an edible-sweet core that's balanced by unexpected depth. Hazelnut and blood orange open bright and tart, but the red wine note adds a fermented nuance that cuts through the sweetness before praline and milk cream arrive to soften everything into a creamy, nutty heart. Akigalawood, a soft woody-spicy material, keeps the heart from becoming saccharine. The real structure lives in the base: bourbon vanilla and benzoin create that sticky, resinous sweetness, while myrrh adds a smoky, slightly bitter counterweight that prevents the composition from reading as purely dessert.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and tart. Blood orange sparkles against hazelnut, with red wine adding a fermented edge that surprises. For the first thirty minutes, it's sweeter than expected, citrusy and slightly boozy. Then the handoff arrives. Praline and milk cream surge forward, pushing the citrus into the background as the composition turns creamy and nutty. Akigalawood adds a soft woody-spicy dimension that keeps the heart from becoming saccharine. By the second hour, the drydown takes over. Bourbon vanilla and benzoin create a sticky, edible sweetness, but myrrh enters with a smoky, slightly bitter edge that tempers the gourmand richness. Musk holds everything close to the skin. The sillage stays moderate throughout. Six to eight hours on most skin types, intimate and present without announcing itself across the room.
Cultural impact
Moschino treats fashion and fragrance as vehicles for social commentary rather than solemn art forms. The brand's provocative spirit extends into scent, with attention-grabbing bottles and unexpected compositions that spark conversation. Toy 2 Gummy continues that tradition of chic subversion.
