The beginning
No Angel arrived in 2022 as a composition from Michael Malul London, created during a period when the brand was building out its portfolio of wearable fragrances. The scent was composed by Gil Clavien, a perfumer with roots in the Swiss fragrance tradition. No Angel sits firmly in the warm white-floral category, a register known for its blend of creamy florals and soft amber bases, but here the treatment opens with a spiced accord that reshapes the usual sweetness. Cloves, French lavender, and bitter orange lead the way before the floral heart of jasmine, tiger orchid, and ylang-ylang takes over. The drydown settles into amberwood, patchouli, and musk, giving the blend a grounded, woody warmth that keeps it from feeling weightless on skin.
The opening of No Angel brings a spicy top that reshapes the usual approach to warm florals. Cloves paired with French lavender and bitter orange do something distinctive: they introduce heat and a slight herbal austerity right at the door.
