The bitter almond in the heart is the pivot point. Done carelessly, it skews medicinal or sharp. Done well, and Maison Alhambra does it well here, it reads almost edible, a warmth that sits between marzipan and warm skin. The orris root adds a powdery iris lift that most clone formulations skip entirely. That's the difference: most echoes stop at the obvious notes. Fabulo Intense reaches for the structure underneath. The cashmeran in the base does quiet heavy lifting too, synthetic musks that mimic the soft warmth of cashmere without the projection of traditional musks, giving the drydown its skin-close intimacy.

The evolution

The opening announces itself quickly. Lavender and clary sage arrive clean, almost soapy in the first minutes before the clary sage's herbal edge softens into something more rounded. Ten to fifteen minutes in, the bitter almond surfaces and takes over, it becomes the dominant voice while the lavender recedes to a faint green undertone. The vanilla doesn't compete; it flanks the almond, adding body without sweetness that overwhelms. The leather announces itself around the forty-minute mark, arriving dry and slightly sharp rather than animalic or warm. By the second hour, the composition has settled. The leather is the loudest remaining note, supported by the cashmeran's soft warmth and tonka bean's sweetness. The vanilla and almond are still present but have flattened into a single warm impression. This is where it lives for most of its remaining hours, leather-forward, skin-close, lasting into the evening on most skin types.
