The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Elksis arrived in 2015 from George Korres and Lena Korres, the husband-and-wife team behind the Greek fragrance house. The Korres name is rooted in the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in Athens, where pharmacist Georgios Korres built his expertise in botanical formulations throughout the late 1980s. In 1996, word-of-mouth demand for his handmade preparations led to the founding of KORRES as a natural products company. Lena brought applied research expertise and transparent communication about natural percentages. Together, they established a philosophy grounded in botanical mastery and natural integrity. Elksis reflects this ethos, a warm, intimate woody-floral anchored by jasmine as the defining note, with vanilla and sandalwood providing the creamy warmth that makes it distinctive.
What makes Elksis interesting is the jasmine. Specifically, its character. The note offers a rich, indolic sweetness that makes jasmine unforgettable. Not the sanitized version of jasmine. This is the real thing, heady and assertive in its floral depth. The woody heart notes provide structure and substance, keeping the floral from floating away into abstraction. And the base, Madagascar vanilla with sandalwood, creates that warm, powdery drydown that makes the fragrance linger close to skin for hours. It's a composition that offers genuine character and warm depth.
The evolution
The opening announces jasmine with character. Rich, slightly indolic, with that specific intoxicating sweetness that makes jasmine unforgettable. This is not a polite floral. Within the first minutes, woody notes begin to arrive in the heart, providing structure, grounding the sweetness. The transition is smooth but noticeable. Then the base takes over. Madagascar vanilla and sandalwood create a warm, powdery drydown that stays close to skin for hours. The vanilla adds a soft sweetness without being gourmand. The sandalwood brings creaminess and subtle warmth. What remains is a lingering presence that rewards close attention.
Cultural impact
Elksis occupies a specific space in the Korres collection, a warm, intimate woody-floral that prioritizes character over convention. The jasmine note carries genuine personality, and the vanilla-sandalwood drydown offers warmth and longevity that make it distinctive. This is a fragrance for someone who appreciates something memorable without being loud.
