Why it exists.
The beginning
Ritrovarsi arrives in 2026 as part of Illunee's Strappi collection, the brand's line of personal fragrances composed in collaboration with perfumer Linea Daria. The Italian name carries a suggestion of reunion, a return to something familiar, and Daria composed accordingly: milk-warm, resin-soft, built around the comfort of being recognized without having to explain yourself. The opening trio of milk, pink pepper, and rum reads less like a fragrance launch and more like a gesture, an offering of something already known, re-offered in a new glass. There's a softness to the way the milk accord first registers on skin, almost warm from the bottle, and the pink pepper arrives not as a sharp accent but as a faint blush of spice that flickers at the edges before settling.
What makes this composition worth attention is its refusal to behave like a traditional gourmand. The milk accord is anchored by benzoin and tolu balsam, both resins that bring warmth without syrupy sweetness. Rum adds a fermented, slightly boozy edge that keeps the cream from turning cloying. The base of cocoa powder and ambrette introduces a skin-like muskiness that grounds the entire composition in something more intimate than edible. The evolution
The first ten minutes belong to the milk and rum, bright and slightly boozy, with pink pepper flickering at the edges like candlelight catching cutlery. Around the 30-minute mark, the benzoin and tolu balsam take over, pulling the composition into something resinous and golden, almost like the smell of warm wood furniture in a sunlit room. By hour two, the sandalwood and guaiac wood have settled into the heart, dry and creamy in a way that feels more like skin than like a scent applied to it. The drydown, from hour four onward, is where the ambrette and cocoa powder do their quiet work. The muskiness stays close, intimate, the kind of scent someone notices only if they're near enough to matter. On fabric the next morning, the tolu balsam and incense linger, faint and slightly sweet, like a room someone recently left.
