Amber Ghost

The note architecture pairs saffron and frankincense at the opening. The Somalian incense tempers saffron's heat, creating an interplay that feels considered rather than expected. As the fragrance develops, the heart reveals orange blossom and sandalwood, floral notes that read as warm and familiar rather than strictly botanical. The base features amber, tonka, vanilla, and ylang-ylang. Each material brings sweetness to the composition, though none dominates. The overall effect is understated, with the amber presence remaining subtle throughout the wear.

The evolution

Somalian frankincense arrives first, mineral and cool, almost churchy before it softens. Saffron follows, introducing a heat with an edge that reshapes the opening. The heart unfolds over the next few hours: Italian orange blossom adds a waxy, honeyed sweetness, while Malayan sandalwood keeps everything grounded. Lily of the valley appears as a delicate, fleeting presence, green and subtle against the growing warmth. The drydown belongs to the amber. Brazilian tonka and Tahitian vanilla arrive late, wrapping the skin in something warm and almost edible, but the amber persists as the defining character throughout.
