Irrévérent is the kind of name that is also a provocation. Created by Luca Maffei and released in 2017 as part of the En Aparté collection, this fragrance carries its intention in the title: rejection of convention is not a side effect, it is the point. Maffei built the opening around bergamot, elemi, and lavender, a bright, aromatic freshness that announces itself immediately. The heart introduces coffee, oud, and styrax, materials that contradict the sweetness above. The base grounds everything in patchouli, sandalwood, and amber. Each layer unfolds with its own distinct character, creating a composition that refuses to settle into predictable patterns.
