The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
This is a numbered limited edition created for Guerlain's annual Christmas Exceptional Rendezvous. Developed with house perfumer Thierry Wasser and French sculptress Géraldine Gonzalez, whose moon-adorned Bee Bottle design marks the 2025 Millésime. The collaboration is the story, the fragrance exists because the house wanted to work with an artist whose vision could translate into something worth collecting. 3665 bottles. Each one numbered. Each one meant to mark a moment rather than become an everyday scent.
The scent translates that luminous collaboration into olfactory form. Orange blossom brings brightness, the kind that reads clean and waxy, almost aldehydic in its clarity. Benzoin adds warmth, honeyed and resinous, sweetening the air without heaviness. Sandalwood anchors the drydown in creamy woodiness, intimate and close. Together, these three materials create a festive trail that matches the anticipation surrounding each annual Exceptional Creation. Not a daily wearer. A mark of occasion.
The evolution
The opening arrives bright and immediate, orange blossom's waxy clarity hitting first, almost aldehydic in its cleanliness. Like morning light through thin curtains. Within thirty minutes, the brightness begins to soften as benzoin's honeyed warmth follows, sweetening the air without losing the initial freshness. The citrus note doesn't disappear, it integrates, folding into the warmer heart. The drydown is sandalwood's domain entirely. Creamy, intimate, close to the skin. The kind of warmth that lingers without announcing itself. Hours later, it's still there, quiet and warm, the last trace of something that started bright and ended close.
Cultural impact
The collaboration with French sculptress Géraldine Gonzalez and the limited 3665-piece run position this as a collector's piece. The Bee Bottle's sparkling moon design transforms the fragrance into wearable art, something sought by fragrance enthusiasts and those who appreciate beautiful objects in equal measure.
