The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Camicia 113 takes its name from a white shirt. Not just any white shirt, the Calice, a landmark design created by Gianfranco Ferre in 1982. The original was inspired by sword fighting and duels, with a collar that echoed the form of a Cala lily. In 2015, the house returned to that archive, asking Nathalie Lorson to translate the shirt's architecture into scent. The bottle stopper is shaped like a collar fold. The box is white. The name means 'My idea of a white shirt.' Everything about Camicia 113 is deliberate. From the precise geometry of the bottle to the way the scent unfolds in layers, each detail honors the original design's meticulous construction.
The chypre structure is what makes Camicia 113 stand apart from the usual floral parade. That mossy, powdery foundation supporting the florals gives it an architectural quality, each note placed with intention rather than layered arbitrarily. The iris brings that characteristic powdery sweetness, while jasmine and violet deepen the floral heart into something more romantic. Siam benzoin in the base adds a resinous warmth that extends the drydown significantly, making this a fragrance that rewards the long wear.
The evolution
The opening arrives bright and immediate. Bergamot and magnolia hit first, crisp and cool, like the first light through a window. Within minutes, peony softens the citrus and the composition shifts. The heart develops over the next hour or two, iris becoming the dominant voice, powdery and cool, almost marble-like in its restraint. Jasmine and violet weave through with a feminine grace that feels structural rather than decorative. By hour three, the base arrives: musk providing intimacy, patchouli grounding the florals with earthiness, and Siam benzoin lending a warm resinous quality that extends the wear considerably. After eight hours, what remains is a quiet skin scent, soft, warm, and distinctly personal.
Cultural impact
Camicia 113 earned strong marks for its bottle design and scent profile, with particular praise for its distinctive iris and powder notes. Community feedback highlights the longevity and elegant, sophisticated character. The moderate sillage and powdery iris heart are often discussed, with wearers noting how the composition maintains its character throughout the day. The iris-forward heart creates a signature presence that distinguishes the scent, while the powdery quality adds a refined dimension that appeals to those seeking something with genuine complexity.
