The evolution

The first ten minutes are the loudest. Blackcurrant lands first, bright and almost edible, cut immediately by pink pepper's dry sparkle and the clean citrus snap of Calabrian bergamot. It's bright, almost sharp, the kind of opening that reads as confident before you've decided whether you like it. Give it twenty minutes and the composition pivots. Green apple softens the edges, lily of the valley brings a cool sweetness, and the patchouli surfaces, not the dusty, earthy kind, but a cleaner, greener version that sits closer to the skin. The fruit recedes. The heart holds that middle ground for another hour or two. By hour three, the drydown takes over. Ambroxan dominates, warm and slightly saline, wrapped in cedarwood and a soft musk that lingers on fabric well into the next morning. On skin it sits closer than the opening suggests, a moderate trail rather than a statement, but it doesn't vanish either.
