The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Gale Hayman built her collection on naming scents after the feelings they conjure, not the ingredients inside. Temptation, Glamour, Feelings, Feelings, Feelings, each one a mood made wearable. Delicious Feelings arrived in 2020 as the latest expression of that philosophy: a fragrance less interested in complexity than in capturing a specific emotional register. The idea was simple. What if a perfume felt like a good mood?
The structure does the heavy lifting. Apple and red currant open sharp and fruity, immediately signaling approachability. The heart of peony, orris, and jasmine keeps things soft without tipping into pastel delicacy. Cedar and musk in the base give it weight without heaviness, the warmth of something that settles rather than shouts. It's composed for wearability across seasons, occasions, and skin types, built on the theory that a fragrance people reach for daily beats one they save for weekends.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately: crisp apple with a slight berry edge from the red currant, black pepper barely a whisper underneath. Within 15 minutes, the fruity brightness softens as the floral heart arrives. Peony leads, orris follows with its powdery iris quality, jasmine slides in quietly. The transition isn't dramatic, it's like watching clouds move on a mild day. By hour two, the base takes over. Musk wraps around the florals, cedar adds structure, amber gives it a honeyed warmth that feels skin-close rather than projecting. On fabric, it lasts well into the next day as a faint, pleasant memory. On skin, the full arc runs 8 to 10 hours, with the drydown occupying the final three to four.
Cultural impact
Delicious Feelings fits squarely within Gale Hayman's tradition of naming fragrances after feelings rather than ingredients. Where other houses might call a scent Rose Absolute or Jasmine Nocturne, Hayman chose names like Temptation and Feelings, understanding that consumers buy into the fantasy surrounding a fragrance as much as its actual smell. The 2020 release continues that identity, positioning itself as an accessible, confident choice in a crowded market.
