French Avenue tasked Carole Calmettes with building a fragrance that felt both luxurious and lived-in, something that opened arms-wide but landed close to the skin. The brief called for warmth with restraint: spiced rum and ripe peach at the front, cedar and dried fruits waiting in the wings. What emerged isn't a statement fragrance. The rum and peach could easily tip into dessert territory, but mineral notes and immortelle keep everything grounded, a counterweight that gives the sweetness somewhere to rest rather than float away. The evolution

The mineral notes keep the sweetness from cloying. By the drydown, vanilla and tonka bean arrive quietly, wrapping themselves around patchouli and labdanum. The cedar persists throughout, evolving from fresh-cut to something older, almost resinous.
