The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Fleur Narcatique was built by Quentin Bisch as a statement of intent. The Extrait concentration delivers what a true Extrait should: an amplified version of the original scent that intensifies without distorting. Same notes, higher density. Same character, more presence. The fragrance carries an unmistakable richness that feels deliberate and controlled, each element pushed further into the foreground to create something with serious sensory weight. Bisch used the Quintessence collection as his laboratory for going deeper, mining the original composition for every drop of potential it contained. The result is a concentrated study in abundance.
Lychee bridges the gap between fruit and floral, its translucent sweetness allowing osmanthus to bloom unimpeded while bergamot keeps the opening clean and luminous. The four white florals in the heart do not layer so much as accumulate their presence, each one staking new territory without stepping on what came before. Peony brings volume and a plush, pillow-like quality that anchors the composition. Jasmine contributes warmth that grounds the florals and keeps them from floating away. Freesia introduces a cool edge that prevents the whole arrangement from becoming syrupy.
The evolution
The opening arrives fast, lychee-sharp, with a coolness that cuts through. Osmanthus adds a honeyed undertone that keeps it from being merely fruity, adding a deeper layer of sweetness that emerges as the top notes begin to soften. The florals gradually take over as the initial brightness recedes. Peony dominates the early wearing period, fat and pink and unapologetic in its fullness. Jasmine arrives to stay, weaving warmth through the peony's volume. Freesia appears intermittently, its presence depending on individual skin chemistry. As the composition progresses, sandalwood and musk arrive together, their creamy woods enveloping what came before. Moss adds a quiet green depth that stops the woods from going too smooth or creamy, keeping things grounded.
Cultural impact
Fleur Narcatique Extrait de Parfum arrived in 2022 as an evolution and a declaration. Quentin Bisch, who designed the original fragrance, returned to reinterpret his own work with increased density and longer wear, creating an ultra-concentrated version that appeals to collectors and luxury consumers seeking maximum performance. The Extrait format allows for a deeper exploration of the original composition's white floral heart. Increased concentration creates more presence, more weight, more of the lush overdose that made the original so distinctive.
