The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Of The Hour came out of a collaboration between content creator Allyiah and the Dossier Creative Lab, part of a two-scent release designed as a day-to-night pairing. The concept was simple: one scent for the daytime glow, one for the hours after. Of The Hour took the evening shift, and its character reads as sensually rich, gender-neutral woods. Dossier partnered with French-crafted perfumery to develop both fragrances in the pair, adding this launch to their growing collection. The brief built the scent around cream and depth rather than flash, with coconut, almond, and pink pepper in the opening giving way to orange blossom, chamomile, and cedarwood at the heart.
What makes this composition interesting is the tension between its cream and its structure. Coconut and almond sit alongside pink pepper and bergamot, which means the opening never tips into suntan-lotion territory. The suede in the base, rather than a typical leather or oud, gives the drydown a brushed, fabric quality. Cistus adds resinous warmth without smoke, and tonka bridges the woody florals to the vanilla finish. The pink pepper does double work too, brightening the cream just enough to keep the blend from turning syrupy.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are all almond and bergamot, cool and almost marzipan-bright, with a thread of pink pepper keeping things from going too soft. Chamomile sits underneath, herbal and clean. Then the coconut arrives, not tropical or suntan-oily but more like coconut milk stirred into something warm. The heart shifts into orange blossom and white florals, airy but grounded by cedarwood that gives the whole phase a woody backbone. The suede enters around the two-hour mark, and that's where the scent finds its final shape. Cistus, tonka, and vanilla wrap everything into a close, creamy, slightly resinous drydown. The cistus in particular anchors the base with a warm, almost amber-like depth, while the tonka softens the edges between the woods and the vanilla. The suede stays present without ever turning smoky or heavy, maintaining that brushed fabric feel through the late hours.
Cultural impact
Of The Hour arrives as part of Dossier's Influencer Lab Collection, a collaboration between content creator Allyiah and the Dossier Creative Lab. The two-scent release pairs a daytime fragrance with Of The Hour's evening profile, positioning it within a day-to-night wardrobe concept. Its coconut and almond opening against a suede and cistus base gives the composition a distinctly creamy, skin-close character that sets it apart from the brighter, more citrus-driven daytime companion. The orange blossom heart, grounded by cedarwood, lends a floral warmth that feels modern rather than traditional.
