The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
City Rhythm, founded in the US in 2021, crafts niche scents that translate a citys pulse into focused, narrative-driven compositions. Niles Ramadhin set out in 2025 to bottle the Caribbean beat that pulses between Puerto Ricos bustling markets and St. Johns tranquil bays. His goal was to capture both the vibrant energy of island markets and the languid calm of tropical shores.
Ramadhin chose each note deliberately. He understood that tropical fruits like pineapple and guava would deliver immediate impact, while mango milk and coconut would provide the creamy richness that makes the heart memorable. The rum and lime add a distinctive boozy-citrus character, and the ambergris and driftwood ensure the drydown has something unexpected, a mineral depth that grounds all that sweetness.
The evolution
The scent opens with pineapple and guava, bright and tart, softened immediately by mango milk. Cane sugar weaves through the opening, while quince adds complexity. As the heart develops, coconut and melon emerge, with lime providing a citrus lift. The drydown shifts to ambergris and driftwood, their mineral quality anchoring the tropical sweetness. Rum and vanilla arrive last, creating a warm, boozy finish that lingers on skin.
Cultural impact
Since its 2025 debut, 86.41 has sparked conversation among fragrance enthusiasts for its unapologetically sweet tropical profile. Wearers note its powerful projection and long‑lasting sillage, while some find the milk‑fruit blend a bold, almost candy‑like statement that stands out in summer collections. It’s become a go‑to for those seeking a bright, beach‑ready extrait that doesn’t shy away from indulgence.
