The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
CH Pink Limited Edition Love arrived in 2012 as part of Carolina Herrera's limited edition collection, a concentrated expression of the house's signature woody-floral vocabulary. Perfumer Olivier Cresp, known for his work across the CH line, built this edition around an elevated sweetness: praline meeting Bulgarian rose with a backbone of warm spice and soft woods. The limited edition framing suggests intent, not a daily workhorse, but something with a specific occasion in mind. What that occasion is, the fragrance leaves up to you.
What makes the pyramid interesting is the tension in the heart. Praline and Bulgarian rose should compete, one is dessert, the other is garden. The cinnamon threads through both, pulling them toward warmth instead of letting them pull apart. Then the base: a forest of sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli softened by musk and amber. It's a move from confection to coziness, all within the same wearing. The opening arrives with a sweet nuttiness that intertwines with the heady, honeyed petals of Bulgarian rose.
The evolution
The opening hits with Sicilian lemon and Calabrian bergamot, bright, sparkling, a quick flash of citrus before it moves on. Within minutes, the praline arrives. That's the surprise. Bulgarian rose follows, but the praline doesn't wait for permission. The two of them settle into a warm, sweet middle that lasts for hours. Cinnamon peeks through, adding a spice that keeps the sweetness honest. By the time the drydown arrives, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, amber, musk, the praline has faded into memory. What's left is creamy woods and skin warmth. Moderate sillage means this is a fragrance you wear for yourself as much as for others. On fabric, the drydown can linger into the next day.
Cultural impact
The launch of this pink edition created an immediate stir among collectors and fragrance enthusiasts. Its distinctive bottle, bold and unapologetically pink, stood apart from typical fragrance releases, drawing attention both on counters and across social platforms. The fragrance itself proved memorable: a rose-forward scent with warm, gourmand undertones that balanced sweetness with depth. Enthusiasts sought it out for its unique character, sharing impressions and tracking availability. The limited nature of the release meant that acquiring it became a point of interest for those who appreciate fragrances that offer something different.
