The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pierre Negrin created Sui Dreams in Green in 2015 as part of Anna Sui's long-running Sui Dreams collection, a line built around fantasy, color, and the idea that fragrance can transport you somewhere better. The 'in Green' chapter captures a specific kind of afternoon: the moment a garden feels most alive, just before dusk, when the air is thick with blooms and everything glows.
What makes this one interesting is the way it moves. It opens green-fruity, yuzu's tart citrus brightness alongside blackcurrant's tang, and softens into something creamier as the white florals take over. The jasmine tea note adds a quiet dimension, a hint of something almost aromatic beneath the frangipani's tropical warmth. It's the kind of layering that keeps you leaning in rather than stepping back.
The evolution
The opening is yuzu and blackcurrant, bright, sparkling, a little tart. That citrus kick lasts maybe fifteen minutes before the florals push through. Frangipani's tropical cream joins jasmine tea's subtle warmth, and suddenly the whole thing has that garden-at-dusk quality: lush, a little heady, impossible to walk past without noticing. The drydown isn't a dramatic shift. It's the florals softening, the musk arriving, vetiver underneath keeping everything grounded. The woody base extends things nicely. On most skin types, expect six to eight hours before it fully fades, and even then, something warm and floral lingers close.
Cultural impact
Sui Dreams in Green occupies a specific space in the Sui Dreams lineup: bright and approachable, without the bolder edges of some flankers. It's a spring and summer staple for those who want something fresh and floral without heaviness. The moderate sillage makes it a reliable daily wear, present without dominating, good for someone who wants to smell nice without announcing it.
