Abaco Paris launched in 2020 in France with a clear ambition: to bridge classic French perfumery traditions with a modern, minimalist sensibility. The house was built on the idea that restraint and quality could coexist, and that a fragrance could feel both timeless and current without relying on nostalgia. For Odelia, the brand turned to perfumer Nejla Barbir, tasking her with a composition that would reflect the house ethos while carrying its own distinct character. The perfumer was given a clear brief: a fragrance that opened with brightness, unfolded into a confident floral heart, and settled into a warm, enduring drydown.
The note selection for Odelia reflects a deliberate philosophy: build from brightness to richness without losing coherence. Mandarin and grapefruit anchor the opening with clean, energizing citrus, and blackcurrant adds a fruity dimension that makes the transition to the heart feel organic rather than abrupt. The heart, dominated by tuberose, was chosen for its ability to serve as a full-bodied statement note, supported by jasmine and ylang-ylang for complexity and tropical warmth.
