Juli Pätzold composed this one alongside Maria Magdalena Stachowiak, building a scent that opens on maraschino cherry and clove before tipping into something far less innocent. The composition pushes past the candy counter into territory where latex and leather sit beneath a vanilla-and-tobacco ceiling, refusing the easy sweetness that maraschino cherry alone might suggest. 20359 proves from the first spritz that this is a house interested in friction, in the tension between what a note promises and what it delivers once it settles against skin.
The combination of maraschino cherry, heliotrope, and clove creates a confectioner's opening, but placing latex and leather underneath that sugary crust shifts the entire character of the composition. Latex as a heart note carries a warm, synthetic skin-sheen quality that bridges the gourmand opening and the tobacco-leather base without smelling like either.
