Trained in fine fragrance development, she chose the independent path, favoring small-batch commissions and editorial projects over large commercial houses. How Juli composes
Her signature lies in transparency and restraint. She builds with a limited palette, often fewer than fifteen materials per composition, and lets each one carry weight. Green and woody notes recur: galbanum, fig leaf, cedar, vetiver, and a particular fondness for iris root, which she uses in doses that feel almost geological. She reaches for ambroxan sparingly, using it as a structural support rather than a calling card. Her florals tend to read bruised rather than bright: rose absolute darkened with patchouli, orange blossom pressed against something smoky. The drydowns are where she lingers longest, building skin-like bases of ambrette, sandalwood, and a raw, animalic musk she adjusts formula by formula.
