The Story
Why it exists.
Jérôme Epinette has been building the Vibrant Leather universe since the first flank released in 2016. Designed for what he called 'the benjamin', the youngest in any room, the one who walks in without hesitation, that original composition established a fruity-leather template that would define the line. Bogoss arrived in 2021 as the next chapter, and Epinette gave it something the original lacked: a pineapple touch that gives it modernity, paired with cedar that brings a woody base to the structure. The combination creates a fragrance that feels both familiar and fresh, maintaining the line's identity while branching into new sensory territory.

The Beginning
Jérôme Epinette has been building the Vibrant Leather universe since the first flank released in 2016. Designed for what he called 'the benjamin', the youngest in any room, the one who walks in without hesitation, that original composition established a fruity-leather template that would define the line. Bogoss arrived in 2021 as the next chapter, and Epinette gave it something the original lacked: a pineapple touch that gives it modernity, paired with cedar that brings a woody base to the structure. The combination creates a fragrance that feels both familiar and fresh, maintaining the line's identity while branching into new sensory territory.
The pineapple is what sets Bogoss apart, it reads as the room's main character rather than a supporting note. Rather than leaning dark or smoky, this fragrance takes on a sunny, tropical character that distinguishes it within the Vibrant Leather family. The structure is built around clarity: the pineapple sweetness sits in deliberate contrast to the woody undertones, the cedar provides a green-wood freshness that shapes the mid-section, and the patchouli gives the base an earthy grounding that keeps the overall composition grounded without overpowering the fruit.
The Evolution
The opening is bright. Lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot arrive together with a tartness that pulls focus for the first few minutes before pineapple takes over as the heart. Here's what community reviews consistently note: the pineapple at Bogoss is not synthetic. That's the distinction. It reads as juicy and realistic, a tropical sweetness that cuts through the citrus rather than blending with it. Cedar shows up earlier than expected, working underneath the fruit rather than waiting for the drydown, this is what makes the mid-section feel woody and green despite the fruit dominance. Around the mid-wear mark, leather asserts itself as the structural base, joining cedar and patchouli to close the composition into a settled, worn-in drydown. The true wearers understand this: Bogoss is a fragrance for the person who wears it for themselves as much as anyone else.
Cultural Impact
The 2021 release entered a fragrance market where mass-market compositions were increasingly being taken seriously as alternatives to higher-priced niche options. Vibrant Leather Bogoss brought the pineapple note into focus as a defining element, a bold choice that generated conversation among those who encountered it. The tropical sweetness and playful character of the fragrance set it apart from more conventional mass-market offerings, bringing a sense of personality and confidence to a price point that rarely delivers this kind of distinctiveness.

Vibrant Leather Bogoss sounds like late afternoon in full sunlight, the kind of warmth that builds slowly and asks you to slow down with it. There is brightness in the opening, the crispness of citrus meeting tropical sweetness, and then something quieter underneath as the leather and cedar settle in. It does not fill the room. It stays close, and that proximity is the point. The sonic equivalent is a track that opens with an immediately engaging hook but spends its middle section in restraint, ending somewhere warm and worn. Think pop-soul energy, percussion that lands softly, and a vocal that trusts silence as much as sound.
