The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
P.13 joins the Sketchbook collection as Xerjoff's latest numbered study, each entry in this series is less a finished statement and more an investigation, a page in a working document about desire's many expressions. The P.13 designation itself feels deliberate, almost experimental. The fragrance opens with rose's softest touch, building toward a heart defined by seduction, tuberose at its center, unapologetic in its power to reveal what usually stays hidden.
What separates P.13 from a standard white floral is its architecture. The top notes, rose, bergamot, violet, create an initial tenderness that lulls. Then the heart arrives: four white florals in concert, with tuberose leading. This is the note perfumers reach for when they want sensuality made olfactory, lush, creamy, slightly indolic, the scent of petals at their most alive. Cloves in the heart add a spicy counterpoint that prevents the composition from becoming purely sweet. The base of tobacco, oakmoss, Peru balsam, and vanilla anchors everything in warmth, ensuring the florals don't simply dissolve into air.
The evolution
The opening arrives soft, powdery violet, bergamot's citrus brightness, Turkish rose in its darkest, most resinous register. The interplay between these elements creates an immediate sense of elegance, the violet lending a velvety cushion beneath the bright citrus spark. As the fragrance unfolds, tuberose asserts itself with commanding presence, and the character shifts dramatically. The heart becomes creamy, narcotic, confrontational in its lushness. Jasmine and orange blossom layer beneath, adding waxy elegance to the tuberose's wildness, their combined floral weight creating an almost hypnotic effect. The composition maintains this opulent mid-phase for some time before gradually transitioning, tobacco and vanilla eventually emerging to anchor the scent.
Cultural impact
P.13 exists in the rarefied space of limited-edition collectible fragrance, only 150 pieces made, available exclusively through Xerjoff's own channels. This isn't a fragrance designed to be found; it's designed to be discovered by those already inside the Xerjoff universe. The bottle itself, bound in cord with a seal that must be broken to liberate the fragrance, makes the unboxing an act of revelation. For collectors who treat fragrance as sculpture, P.13 offers both artistic merit and genuine olfactory ambition.
