The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Vibe collection has a formula: citrus brightness up top, warm spices in the middle, woody-amber staying power below. Chris Maurice (Christian Carbonnel) built Amabile inside that structure, green apple, Amalfi lemon, and Calabrian bergamot opening the composition, then turning it over to Guatemalan cardamom and pink pepper. The 2020 release sits alongside Accento and Erba Pura as part of Xerjoff's most wearable line. Opulent, yes. But this one you can actually wear.
What makes the pyramid interesting is the cardamom. It's not a common heart note, too aromatic, too specific for mass appeal. Here it bridges the fruity citrus and the vanilla base, giving the composition an herbal warmth that prevents it from tipping into candy. The pink pepper adds a clean spice that lifts rather than heats. Together they create a transition that feels intentional rather than inevitable.
The evolution
The opening arrives bright and tart, green apple and citrus dancing with orange blossom. Within twenty minutes, the heart takes over: cardamom and pink pepper warming the composition while jasmine threads through. The handoff is clean but not abrupt. By the second hour, the base dominates. Mexican vanilla, Atlas cedar, and white musk create something intimate and persistent. The Indonesian patchouli adds a quiet earthiness that grounds the drydown, leaving a subtle, warm foundation that lingers softly on the skin.
Cultural impact
Part of Xerjoff's Vibe collection, following Accento and Erba Pura in the house's signature style: fresh-fruity openings that transition into warm, woody bases. Amabile fits that mold, offering an accessible and wearable interpretation of the Xerjoff aesthetic. The fragrance opens with bright, inviting notes before settling into a comfortable, familiar warmth that feels at home in everyday moments.
