The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Stellar Bloom arrived in 2023 from the studio where Macaul Neenan and Miriam Shechet build every Voyde fragrance. Neenan and Shechet set out to construct a white floral that felt substantial, not decorative. Gardenia can collapse into cream. Jasmine grandiflorum can turn indolic and unruly. The brief was saturation without heaviness, the floral equivalent of standing in direct heat with the volume all the way up. They anchored the petals with tobacco and sandalwood so the bloom would peak and stay. The result is Voyde's statement white floral: opulent, disciplined, and built to hold its shape on warm skin.
The structural move here is the mirabelle plum threaded through the heart, warming the petals without making them sugary. It reads less like a fruit note and more like fruit ripening in the same heat as the flowers, a natural glow rather than added sweetness. Tobacco then enters to dry the sweetness out of the floral-fruital accord so it doesn't slide into confection. Sandalwood, vanilla, and musk form the base that keeps the whole composition from floating off the wrist and into the air.
The evolution
The opening is loud. Jasmine sambac, ylang-ylang, and tuberose hit together in a creamy, almost tropical wave, solar and full, the way dense white floral compositions announce themselves before they have to answer for it. The indolic edge is present but managed, more warmth than rawness, and the creaminess never softens into something powdery or polite. The florals carry the first phase with the confidence of a saturated composition, and the warmth reads as solar rather than sweet. As the petals begin to settle, the mirabelle plum surfaces with a golden, nectarous quality, and clove threads through alongside it, giving the white florals a faint warm-spice backbone that keeps the fruit from collapsing into simple sweetness. Tobacco arrives and does something specific.
Cultural impact
Stellar Bloom is a white floral that refuses to be polite. It's a saturated, unapologetic composition, built without the powdery softness that softer florals tend to rely on, and it wears like a deliberate choice. It's the kind of fragrance someone reaches for when they want the bloom at its peak, not the bud before it, and it carries the confidence of a composition that knows exactly what it is. What sets Stellar Bloom apart is the way it handles its white floral materials.
