The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name came first, evoking the tactile sensation of cashmere, the weight of it settling on shoulders, the way it holds warmth without explanation. Kashimire released in 2015 as part of V Canto's Blu collection, built around cashmere wood as a foundational note. Warm woods and resins create the architecture: copaiba balsam contributes a honeyed gum, amber brings golden resin warmth, sandalwood lends its persistent cream. These materials work together to establish a base that feels immediately comfortable, like something familiar without being ordinary. The composition achieves softness without resorting to sweet or powdery shortcuts, relying instead on the inherent richness of its materials to deliver an enveloping experience.
Cashmere wood itself is a relatively recent aromatic material, constructed from aromachemicals that replicate the soft, slightly powdery impression of the fiber rather than any specific botanical source. In Kashimire, it does something unusual: it opens soft but doesn't stay soft. The powdery impression deepens as vanilla arrives in the heart, and the combination of cashmere wood with vanilla creates what wearers consistently describe as the fragrance's defining character, a warm, enveloping softness that reads as both intimate and luxurious.
The evolution
Cashmere wood opens the first chapter, creamy, powdery, immediately soft. No sharpness. No adjustment period. The amber and copaiba balsam layer underneath, adding warmth without weight. It arrives like something you've worn before. The heart phase brings vanilla forward, but it's not a baker's vanilla. Sandalwood makes it creamy. Ylang-ylang makes it slightly tropical. Geranium slips in with a green whisper, the one note that keeps the warmth from becoming static. This is where the cashmere metaphor becomes most vivid: you're wrapped in it now. The base is where time becomes visible. Labdanum adds a resinous, slightly leathery depth that contrasts with everything that came before. Patchouli keeps the earthiness honest. Musk and vetiver settle close to skin, quiet and lasting. Eight to ten hours of the same warm, powdery presence, then the next morning, something faintly sweet on the collar.
Cultural impact
Kashimire occupies a distinctive position within the niche fragrance landscape: warm, powdery, and approachable without sacrificing depth. Community ratings consistently place longevity and sillage above average, making it a reliable choice for those seeking a signature warmth that lasts through a full workday into evening.
