The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Ti Amo Mi Amor launched in 2023 under the nose of Mahsam Raza, perfumer for The Dua Brand. The name borrows straight from Spanish romance, the kind of phrase murmured across a candlelit table. Raza built the composition as an amber floral with Eastern warmth at its core, a translation of that gesture into scent. Citrus and pineapple catch the light up front, then the whole thing tilts toward heliotrope, cacao, and orris. It reads like a flirtation that knows where it's headed. The opening carries a bright, almost sunlit quality where the pineapple adds a sharp juicy sweetness that cuts against the softer citrus, and the transition into the heart is where the fragrance starts to show its character.
What makes this composition unusual is the sheer volume of material layered into a single structure. You get bergamot and mandarin up top, ylang-ylang and neroli at the heart, then cacao, tonka, and labdanum in the base, but the list keeps going: carrot seeds, galbanum, orris, ambergris. Raza let it all breathe in one bottle. The result has a spiced, powdery density that reads as deliberate richness, where the composer weaves floral and gourmand threads at full volume rather than choosing one lane.
The evolution
The opening is all citrus snap. Mandarin, bergamot, pineapple, a flicker of pink pepper and ginger for heat. It smells like cold fruit on a warm plate, bright, almost sharp, and you might wonder where the powder is. Then it arrives. Heliotrope and orris root settle in, pulling ylang-ylang and neroli with them into something soft, almond-sweet, slightly soapy in the best way. The floral heart doesn't sit still. Cacao and tonka bean move underneath, nudging the composition toward something edible, somewhere between skin-warm and confection. The base takes over as the hours pass. Sandalwood and vetiver give it grain. Labdanum and ambergris bring the resinous warmth. Cumin adds a quiet animalic edge. Saffron threads through without announcing itself. What's left on skin in the deep drydown is a close, powdery amber with traces of vanilla and guaiac wood.
Cultural impact
Ti Amo Mi Amor sits in The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, a lineup that interprets various references through the house's own lens. The fragrance itself carries a layered complexity that rewards attention, with a density of notes that unfolds gradually across the wear. The composition speaks to anyone drawn to ambers and orientals with real substance, where the interplay between gourmand and floral elements creates something that feels both indulgent and considered. It belongs to a category of scent that values richness and presence, where projection and sillage matter as much as the artistry behind the accord.
