The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pink Sparkles landed in 2024 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection, Mahsam Raza's interpretation of Atelier des Ors' Pink Me Up. The brief reads like an invitation: take the celebratory lift of a prestige fragrance and rebuild it for a wider table. It opens with the brightness of bergamot and orange blossom, then pours champagne into the mix, not as a gimmick, but as the structural pivot that gives the whole scent its sense of occasion. The bergamot delivers a clean citrus snap that cuts through the air like the first slice of a knife across a wrapper. Orange blossom softens that edge with its sun-warmed floral glow, a white-flower sweetness that feels more garden than laboratory.
Champagne as a fragrance note is a balancing act. Too much and you're wearing a cocktail menu. Too little and the sparkle disappears, leaving you with a generic fruity floral. The effervescence works best as a texture rather than a flavor, a fine-bubbled shimmer that lifts the other ingredients without announcing itself. The bergamot adds the citrus snap, the orange blossom brings the floral warmth and indolic lift that gives the opening its skin-close glow, and the champagne accord provides that just-poured brightness without tipping into sweetness.
The evolution
Pink Sparkles opens like the moment a cork pops: bright, fizzy, slightly chaotic. Bergamot cuts first, sharp and clean, then the champagne accord floods in with its cold, sparkling sweetness. Orange blossom lifts the whole opening into something airy and optimistic, almost like sunlight through a window. For the opening stretch, it reads almost effervescent, more texture than flavor, a fine-bubbled shimmer that sits just above the skin. Then the blackberry arrives, dark and jammy, grounding the brightness with a hit of fruit. The rose weaves in alongside it, powdery and softly romantic, softening the sharp edges and pulling the composition closer to the body. The heart lingers comfortably, the rose and blackberry trading prominence depending on skin chemistry, one coming forward on warmer pulses while the other settles into the background.
Cultural impact
Pink Sparkles entered the fragrance conversation in 2024, released as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression collection. The fragrance takes its cues from Atelier des Ors' Pink Me Up, reworking the celebratory architecture of that original composition through Raza's interpretation. The result leans into a champagne-rose-iris profile that translates well across casual and dressy contexts, equally suited to brunch tables and evening occasions.
