The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
#Attitude launched in 2020 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line. The original it draws from, Giorgio Armani's Attitude, debuted in 2007 with a bottle shaped like a cigarette lighter, an unmistakable design choice that earned the fragrance a cult following before discontinuation left collectors scrambling. The Dua Brand managed to secure a bottle of the original formulation from 2007 and worked to reengineer the composition, capturing its rugged, smoky-sweet character without the secondary-market price tag. What emerged keeps the original's core architecture intact: coffee bean at the top, lavender and cardamom in the middle, and a warm resinous base built on amber, cedarwood, opoponax, and patchouli.
The composition's tension lives in its contrasts. Coffee and lemon make for an unusual opening pairing, one that reads simultaneously dark and bright, roasted yet sharp. Lavender softens the middle without tipping into soapy territory, and cardamom adds a spiced edge that keeps the heart from going soft. The base is where this earns its weight: opoponax brings a warm balsamic sweetness that bridges amber and patchouli, while cedarwood grounds everything in dry wood.
The evolution
On skin, #Attitude starts with a hit of coffee that's dark and slightly bitter, undercut by a clean thread of lemon zest that keeps the opening from collapsing into pure gourmand. The first half hour is the loudest phase, warm and assertive, with the coffee and lemon commanding attention. As the coffee recedes, lavender takes over, herbal in character and joined by cardamom's cool spice. The middle act is a smoother, more contemplative register where the fragrance stops performing and starts wearing itself in, the aromatics settling into the skin with less projection but more nuance. Then the base takes over: amber and opoponax bring a resinous sweetness, while cedarwood and patchouli add an earthy, smoky depth that defines the later hours of wear.
Cultural impact
#Attitude sits within The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line. The original Giorgio Armani Attitude from 2007, with its distinctive lighter-shaped bottle, became a cult favorite before disappearing from retail, which created exactly the conditions that made reconstruction efforts worthwhile. This 2020 release gives wearers a route to that profile without the collector's markup, offering a version of the scent that captures the rugged, smoky-sweet character of the original.
