The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Trama was conceived within the Simone Cosac Profumi house, a niche fragrance atelier in Florence, Italy, drawing its creative language from the Renaissance romance between Bianca Cappello and Francesco I de' Medici. The name itself carries weight within the collection's narrative, tied to ideas of hidden structure and layered meaning. The brand's founder, Simone Cosac Naify, approaches each fragrance as a chapter in that ongoing story, translating historical intimacy into sensory experience. Trama is the chapter about choice. The sophisticated woman who knows how to choose. The memory found folded in old silk. The suitcase that holds more than clothes.
The opening is deliberate, pink and black pepper arriving together, bright and almost biting, before litchi's fruitiness softens the introduction. The tension between sharp and sweet sets up what follows: a floral heart so rich it can feel almost overwhelming at first spray. Tuberose leads, damask rose follows, jasmine threads through, and peach adds a translucent sweetness that keeps the florals from becoming heavy. The base is where the composition earns its Renaissance reference.
The evolution
The opening hits quickly. Within seconds, pink and black pepper announce themselves, clean, almost mineral sharpness that wakes up the senses. Litchi arrives warm, not tart, a counterweight to the spice. The first hour is a negotiation between brightness and sweetness. Then the florals take over. Tuberose rises, damask rose deepens, jasmine amplifies, and for some wearers, this is where Trama becomes too much. The richness is not subtle. It announces itself. But if you wait, the patchouli arrives. Indonesian patchouli, earth-forward and warm, does not replace the florals so much as ground them. The benzoin follows, adding resinous sweetness that softens the edges. Cedar appears, giving the drydown a clean wooden finish that lingers. The amber stays close to the skin for the full duration, lending an intimate warmth that persists throughout the wear.
Cultural impact
Trama occupies a specific space in the niche fragrance landscape, among oriental florals built around lush florals, warm spice, and resinous depth. It draws wearers who appreciate rich tuberose without restraint, balanced by pepper's brightness and patchouli's grounding warmth. The fragrance presents itself with presence and depth, making it a notable entry within the Simone Cosac collection. Those who gravitate toward Trama tend to value complexity and are drawn to compositions that reward patience and attention.
