Santa Eulalia, established in Barcelona in 1843 as a textile workshop, has spent nearly two centuries weaving heritage into modern luxury. In 2023, the house turned to perfumer Luca Maffei to translate that weaving tradition into scent for Odyssea, a fragrance named for Homer's epic poem and the timeless voyages of Mediterranean culture. The brief called for a fragrance that captured both the color of Catalan craftsmanship and the texture of olfactory memory, resulting in a composition that reflects Santa Eulalia's enduring commitment to artisanal excellence.
The note selection in Odyssea reflects a philosophy of contrast and harmony. The bright, effervescent opening of pink grapefruit and cinnamon was chosen to evoke the clarity of Mediterranean light, while saffron blossom adds an unexpected oriental touch that hints at distant shores.
