Why it exists.
The beginning
Empire Najm launched in 2024 under Risala Elite, marketed by Sterling Perfumes Industries LLC. The name carries weight, "Najm" meaning "star" in Arabic, and the composition aims at that celestial register: bright fruit at the top, a warm floral-cedar middle, and a base of oud, amber, and cypriol that anchors the whole thing in classic Gulf perfumery tradition. The opening reads like a burst of sunlight, with mango and red berries giving it a juicy sweetness, ginger slicing through with a clean, almost effervescent heat, and lemon keeping the whole thing from tipping into syrup territory. The heart softens quickly, as jasmine adds a creamy floral lift without veering indolic, and cedar brings a dry, pencil-shaving crispness that grounds the sweetness and gives the composition structure.
The interesting tension here is mango meeting oud. That pairing is what gives Empire Najm its identity: a bright, fruity opening that's far more typical of playful contemporary releases, sitting on top of a coumarin-cedar middle and a cypriol-oud-amber base that pulls the composition in a completely different direction. There's a contrast in the way the top notes almost announce themselves with that ginger-laced red berry brightness, all sweetness and energy, while the base speaks in lower registers, smoky cypriol curling around the warmth of amber and the soft, animalic whisper of oud.

The mango-oud pairing makes it notable: tropical fruit top notes are far more common in playful summer releases than in compositions anchored by cypriol and oud, and that contrast gives the fragrance its particular character.
