The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Cereza was conceived in 2024 as a tribute to the Spanish word for cherry, reflecting founder Alex's vision of capturing island memories through scent. RDZ Parfums, rooted in Caribbean heritage and Philadelphia grit, designed this extrait to bridge two worlds: the burst of ripe fruit from tropical markets and the polished sophistication of niche perfumery. The cherry note, bright and immediate, anchors the fragrance in personal narrative while the composition signals intentional craftsmanship.
The note selection for Cereza reflects a deliberate philosophy: fruit must have structure, not just sweetness. Cherry and plum provide immediate allure, but the supporting cast of almond and bergamot ensures the opening feels intentional rather than accidental. The floral heart adds sophistication, and the base, anchored by cashmere wood and sandalwood, ensures the fragrance lingers with presence.
The evolution
The fragrance opens with cherry and plum delivering that initial fruit burst, softened by almond and lifted by bergamot. As the top notes recede, jasmine and rose bloom into the heart, enriched by saffron's warm spice. The transition into the drydown brings a different kind of warmth, as cashmere wood and sandalwood create a creamy foundation, while ambergris adds an animalic whisper and patchouli keeps everything grounded.
Cultural impact
Since its 2024 debut, Cereza has sparked conversation among niche collectors for its unapologetically bright cherry opening paired with a warm, cashmere‑soft drydown. Wearers often note the fragrance stands out in the cherry‑fruit segment, offering a boozy elegance that feels both festive and refined. Compared to Tom Ford Lost Cherry, it leans less syrupy and more balanced, earning compliments for its longevity and strong sillage in both day‑to‑night settings.
