Bergamot and pink pepper up top give it nerve, that first-impression sparkle that says awake and alive. The heart softens fast, though. Bourbon geranium brings a green, almost minty facet that keeps the florals from tipping into sweetness, while cardamom adds warmth without weight. Freesia lightens everything, keeps the mid-phase from getting too serious. It is a tightly built floral-spicy bridge that knows exactly when to pull back.

The evolution

The first 15 minutes belong to the top. Bergamot hits first, sharp and almost fizzy, then lotus rounds the edges into something creamier. Pink pepper flickers underneath like a pilot light, present but not aggressive. The geranium and cardamom take their time settling in, working through the early stages as the citrus begins to mellow. The geranium reads green and slightly herbal, almost rosemary-adjacent, while cardamom settles in like the warmth of a cup held between both hands. Freesia keeps it bright, lifting the heart with a clean, airy quality that keeps the composition from tipping into anything dense. Nothing heavy yet, nothing challenging. As the composition continues to develop, the base starts to surface. Cashmere wood does exactly what it promises, a fabric-soft warmth that reads like dry cotton or the inside of a well-worn collar.
