Why it exists.
The beginning
Nicolas Bonneville signed his name to Eclat Amour Intensité in 2024, building it for Oriflame's Eclat line. The Intensité tag signals a richer version of the original Eclat Amour, leaning heavier into amber and warmth without abandoning the approachable charm that defines the house. Bonneville shaped a floral with structure: bright fruit, soft spice, and a base that knows how to wait. The opening fruit notes have a crisp, sun-warmed quality, almost like ripe pear with the sharp sweetness of mandarin oil, while pink pepper threads through offering warmth without aggression. At the heart, linden blossom carries a honeyed, golden softness, lifted by rose and given fullness through jasmine.
The interesting move here is the linden blossom, a note that rarely gets top billing in mainstream florals. Linden has a honeyed, almost green quality that bridges citrus and florals without committing to either. Pairing it with pink pepper rather than the usual citrus brightness gives the opening a muted sparkle instead of a sharp one. The rose-jasmine-linden heart is a classic romantic triangle, but linden keeps it from going powdery. Down below, Ambroxan does what Ambroxan does best: it gives skin a clean, musky skin-warmth that makes vanilla feel modern instead of cupcake-ish.
The evolution
The opening is brief and intentional, registering quickly before dissolving into something softer. What remains is the linden blossom, warm and golden, backed by rose and jasmine that take their time to fully open. The white florals reach a recognizable peak before starting to blur at the edges, their sharpness rounding out as the hours pass. Ambroxan gradually takes over the architecture: clean, slightly salty, that familiar skin-scent glow. Vanilla and sandalwood settle underneath, quiet but present, lending a woody softness to the composition. As the fragrance wears on, you'll catch it on your wrist later in the evening, softer now, more musky than floral, the vanilla and amber pulling closer to the skin. On clothes the next day: amber and faint rose, like a memory, the sandalwood still anchoring everything with its quiet creaminess.

Eclat Amour Intensité occupies a specific lane: the romantic floral that doesn't shout romance.
