The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2018, Luca Maffei built a garden in scent. The Le Jardin collection by Olibere holds a series of fragrances, each with its own character. Amélie's garden is an intimate space. Not a grand entrance. Not a spectacle. The air carries the memory of blossoms and warm earth, something familiar and comforting. The fragrance invites you in slowly, like stepping through a gate into a quiet green space where nature and memory meet.
What makes Amélie's garden unusual is the way the fruit and the bloom hold equal weight. The rhubarb and honeysuckle don't compete. They negotiate. That tart, vegetable edge of the rhubarb prevents the honeysuckle from tipping into something overly sweet, while the honeysuckle gives the rhubarb a warmth it wouldn't have on its own. The pink pepper and violet add an unexpected dryness to the heart, keeping the composition from reading as purely feminine or delicate. This is a garden with a spine.
The evolution
The opening hits tart and effervescent. Rhubarb and raspberry arrive together, the raspberry giving the rhubarb something softer to lean against, while pink pepper adds a faint prickle of warmth. The bergamot is there too, but it disappears quickly, leaving the fruit as the dominant signal. Then the honeysuckle steps in. It doesn't rush. The floral heart develops slowly, rose and honeysuckle weaving together, with violet lifting the combination just enough to keep it from becoming heavy. The drydown is where the fragrance reveals its true character. Amber and white woods arrive quietly, settling close to the skin, the musk keeping everything intimate and skin-adjacent. The scent lingers softly, a gentle warmth that stays with you.
Cultural impact
Le Jardin d'Amélie is part of the Olibere collection, an intimate fragrance with a softly Fruity-floral character. Its close-wearing nature and delicate balance make it stand apart from more assertive scents. The composition emphasizes subtlety and warmth, creating a garden moment that feels personal rather than performative. For those who appreciate understated elegance in a fragrance, this remains a quietly compelling choice.
