The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Nude arrived in 2020 as a fragrance that asked what happens when you remove everything performative and let a composition stand on its own terms. The work began in a personal space where materials could be approached with genuine curiosity, and the formulation process prioritized how each element might interact rather than how it might perform. The result is a scent that presents itself directly, in a clear glass bottle, with a label that doesn't explain itself. It launched later that year, and it still is. There is something almost confrontational about that simplicity. No borrowed narrative, no theatrical entrance. Just the scent itself, stripped down to what it actually does on skin.
What makes Nude structurally interesting is the tension at its core. Fennel and lemongrass introduce an assertive, almost vegetable-sharp quality, while orange blossom and violet present soft, powdery characteristics. The green herbs arrive with real presence, cutting through the air in a way that demands acknowledgment. Meanwhile, the florals offer something entirely different in texture and mood. Most fragrances ease the wearer from one phase to another, but here both dimensions remain present simultaneously, holding the composition in a kind of productive balance.
The evolution
The opening lands sharp. Fennel cuts through the citrus and herbaceous elements with precision, immediate and slightly unexpected. Lemongrass follows, adding its own green-lemony edge to the composition. The lime provides a brief, bright flash before orange blossom arrives quietly, smoothing the herbaceous edges and letting those green notes breathe alongside the florals. Then jasmine and black violet emerge. The violet is a surprise here, translucent and purple, more powder than flower. It softens the jasmine without diluting it, and this interplay becomes the most sustained part of the wear. The drydown brings ylang-ylang and bitter almond together, creamy and warm, wrapping around what came before. The verbena adds a final whisper of green that connects back to the opening.
Cultural impact
Nude launched at a time when indie perfumery was gaining momentum in regions not commonly associated with fragrance exports, challenging assumptions about where niche fragrances originate. The fennel-lemongrass combination stood apart from the sweet-gourmand trends that dominated the early 2020s, signaling a move toward herbal, unconventional compositions. Ukrainian indie brands have since attracted international collector attention, partly due to the scarcity and storytelling behind each release. Nude represents that broader cultural moment while maintaining its own identity as a fragrance that refuses to be easily categorized.
