Why it exists.
The beginning
Numen takes its name from the Latin word for a divine presence, something powerful and undefined, beyond the gods themselves. The concept invited exploration into how something so abstract could translate into scent. What emerged was a composition built on contrast, cool green against warm amber, the herbal against the resinous. The fragrance opens with crisp, clean aromatics that establish its green character. As it develops, the herbal qualities interweave with deeper resinous notes, creating a layered experience. The amber foundation adds warmth without heaviness, grounding the composition in something substantial. The herbal and resinous elements do not fight for dominance but instead coexist, each note finding its place within the whole.
Hemp appears in this composition as an aromatic material with a slightly resinous character alongside a green quality that pairs with jasmine. Jasmine adds creaminess to the blend. Cedar and vetiver bring wood and earth notes without adding heaviness. The base includes incense as a material, offering something resinous and warm rather than smoke-and-leather.
