The beginning
Voice of Kyara is Kinamic's statement from the Qiyun Collection, launched in 2025. It arrives as a 40% concentration pure parfum, a high-density format that preserves the resin's character across every stage of wear. The fragrance was composed by perfumer Marius Pană, who built the structure around three distinct oud sources. Each one was chosen for its contribution to the blend, and the result reflects the brand's focus on the Qiyun Collection identity. There is no rose, no saffron, no amber shortcut in the formula. The composition rests on the wood, the smoke, and a decision about which grade leads.
Voice of Kyara runs three regional oud sources. Brunei kinam contributes a deep resin note, recognized for the qualities that collectors associate with the grade. Vietnamese oud from Nha Trang adds a softer, sweeter facet to the accord. Sultani Oud Maroke Royale anchors the blend with a dry, aged character that gives the composition its gravity. The yuzu and lilac enter as unexpected guests. Yuzu introduces a green, bitter quality to the citrus opening, steering it away from typical cologne brightness.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes belong to the yuzu. It cuts sharp and green, and the lilac hides underneath it, setting up a floral presence that contrasts with the resinous base. The cedar arrives early too, giving the opening a structural quality before the oud has fully introduced itself. The heart is where the three oud grades take their seats. Brunei kinam arrives first, deep and slightly saline. Vietnamese oud follows with a softer, almost syrup-sweet counterpoint, and Sultani Oud Maroke Royale settles underneath as the bass note. The hinoki cypress keeps the whole thing from collapsing into sweetness, adding a dry, almost pencil-shaving woodiness to the accord. The drydown is where the ouds merge into a single resinous hum that sits close to skin for hours. The lilac fades gradually, leaving a faint cool sweetness behind.
